Hello there.

YES #Humane Cosmetics Act to ban animal testing for cosmetics products

The Humane Cosmetics Act is being considered by the government to ban animal testing for cosmetics products.  This needs to be passed and go into law immediately.  Make sure to voice support for this new legislation on your Twitters, Facebooks, etc.

YES #IvoryCrush in New York City to send anti-wildlife trafficking message

This is the best thing ever.  Over 2000 pounds of illegal ivory was crushed in New York City in the middle of Times Square today.

All you law-breaking horrible elephant poachers, are you WATCHING THIS?  Time to STOP wildlife trafficking.

happy memorial day

Happy Memorial Day.  It's good to stop and reflect once in a while about America's history and where we could be going from here, and the importance of defining what it means to be a humane society, for people and for animals.  We are all denizens of planet Earth and must share equally in our responsibilities towards taking care of this planet.

no bueno

Yesterday's Freebooksy promotion went not so great, compared to ones before it.  I'm mad at myself.  Picked the WRONG DATE.  May 21.  May 21 sucks.  May 23 would have been ideal.

International Fund for Animal Welfare

It makes me happy when I find a new organization that exists to help animals in the U.S. and around the world.

Donate to help Jake the German Shepherd! - update

He has a long battle ahead of him still. This is a really hard time for him.  But he's a young dog (3 years old), and deserves so much more than what he's experienced!  Apparently his organs are fine, which is so important.  He's getting antibiotics now, thanks to all of us who have donated for him.  Keep him in your thoughts and donate something if you can, please.  I donated, and every dollar counts.

This beautiful, beautiful dog

His back legs are looking a little better, at least.  It's going to take a lot of time for him to pull through and he still needs as much support as possible to keep hanging on.  But a beautiful German Shepherd like him should not be looking like this and it's worth it to give him every chance in the world.

It's National Puppy Day!

This is the best holiday of all.  National Puppy Day!  I applaud all the rescue organizations that are committed to helping all dogs, and the places that have adopted the no-kill policy.  We need more places like these!  Every single dog deserves a great human being.

Please make a commitment to adopt a shelter/rescue dog or foster one.

ADOPT A SHELTER DOG!

I can't say this message loudly enough, you'll be seeing it all over this blog with regularity.

Adopt a shelter dog!

You will not regret it.
